My Update

image

My plan has  not been working. The definition of insane is doing the same thing over and over again looking for a different outcome. So basically I have been insane. I am on my way back to sanity by changing what is not working for me.

Counting calories or points has absolutely not worked. I get this all or nothing attitude and sabotaging is where it heads and ultimately finds. So food plan…what to do? It is simple. The easier my meal plan the better I do. I rocked the old Weight Watcher Core plan and why they changed the name I never will understand. That does not matter though because I know the plan inside and out. I will photograph my food to journal it because I also hate all that writing and enjoy the pictures as a great reminder…now to just remember the camera with me at all times.

My exercise has sucked. I am supposed to be doing the 30day shred with the Shrinking Jeans. I made it through 2 1/2  weeks and this week I slacked, bad. I will change this. I will do 30 minutes on the EA Sports Active 5 of 7 days and then add movement into my regular household chores.

I will not be logging food into my BodyBugg* so I will be using the steps, activity and calorie burn as a guide. Then I am also using the Gruve*, comparing it to the BodyBugg and that too registers calories burned, also buzzes me to tell me to move…I sorta like that, it is a great reminder, especially when I have computer work to do. In a few weeks after comparing them both, literally side by side I will have an official review up.IMG_0246

I definitely need to up my steps, the goal I seem to remember is 10,000 a day. I get about 6500 a day, but need to up that.

Change is good, especially when what you have been doing is just plain not working. My online presence via twitter and facebook will have to be cut back, WAY BACK! As much as I love chatting, my health needs to be first. Know I am here, I will update and if you do not see me update…call me out for it!

I am officially withdrawing from the Mamavation campaign.

Please stop tweeting for me to be the next Mamavation mom.

The support has been completely overwhelming to me, it has given me the confidence and encouragement I think I have lacked in myself for so long. Confident enough to ask some really hard questions. The answer to those questions is what ultimately helped make my decision to leave the mamavation campaign.

I want to thank Renee, Josie, Janice, Julie and Carla for your support and agreeing to be my fit friends and I hope you will still hover over me, check in with me once a week and kick my but when I need it, because assuredly there will be times when I will absolutely need it.

I also want to thank the many many friends that have been tweeting their support for me, I really really appreciate it and know with you cheering me on I can do this for me, my health and my family! I am accountable to me and I need to remember that. I need to be true to me and my personal goals and not allow myself to be sidetracked, no matter how good that detour sounds or appears.

Before I end I want to thank Kim for pestering me to re-apply this campaign as well. Thank you to all the Sistah’s who have tweeted and supported. Things have changed, but my goals and friendships have not. I am truly thankful for the online friends I have made and look forward to a continued growth with them.

I read this quote yesterday…

Change is inevitable, growth is optional.

I know things change, I want to be sure the changes I make help me grow in strength and support and true and strong bonds with people that are looking for the same. There is definitely something better coming. Our lives are what we make of them. We need search out what life has to offer…always looking to the positive, even in what may seem to be so negative, to turn it around. There is assuredly something better than all the stress life has to throw at us right now, something better we just cannot imagine, but are promised.

Trish

*The Gruve was sent to me by the company to review and compare to my BodyBugg that I purchased on my own. The thoughts and opinions expressed here are completely my own and are in no way effected by the company giving me the product free of charge.

Trish, thank you for sharing this. I'm sure it wasn't easy. We all find ourselves stuck in a rut from time to time and the best thing is to realize it's an opportunity for change. I'm glad to see you're taking a positive approach. I think when you let go of that micro-analyzing and calorie counting and just focus on eating clean, you'll have more success. You're gonna get there, honey! I have faith in you!

I'm so sorry to see you go Trish. But hang in there. Weight loss is really tough and it take time. Lots of time and dedication. I know there are a bunch of things in your private life that are pressing, and really that is the most important thing. Good luck with everything. I know everyone will still support you with your weight loss goals. And so will I.

The first thing I told Dr. Renna when I became a Mamavation Mom was that I was not into the whole counting calories thing, so I definitely understand that! She was so great about making up a simple plan for me that I could follow every day without much thought.

You are a definite asset to the Mamavation group, and I hope you will continue to be involved. We love you, Trish!

I'm glad that you're putting yourself first, that is really important for us to remember that in order to be successful on our weight loss journeys. This is a relief to read that although you are withdrawing from the campaign you are not quitting your journey. I heart you, Trish, and I know that you are reaching your goals. We're here for you no matter what. XOXO

Trish,
I think you are smart to get back to just the basics. Exactly why I rarely participate in all of the wonderful contests etc. they are awesome but throw me way off course.
Take a few days and really think about where you are and where you want to go. You will figure it out I am sure. If you are anything like me you worry about taking time away from everything.
What I have found is that the real people like the ones you have mentioned will still be there when you are. (including me)
You do not have to hold any sort of a title for me to know that you are one of the most amazing women ever!
Love ya!

Hey Trish, just read your post and feel a bit sad that you are withdrawing your application...but it seems like you are giving yourself an honest 'once over' and discovering what you need to do and can do to help meet your health needs. And though I'm not one of the 'fit friend standby's', I'm gonna hover over you a bit too,if that's okay! :) You've been inspirational to me in the short time I've gotten to know you...and your blog title is completely accurate...You ARE Succeeding! Even seeming 'setbacks' are part of the success...because you are learning from them, growing from them and moving forward with strength, confidence and determination. You will get there...you ARE doing this!

PS - I'm looking forward to hearing about the Gruve/Bodybugg comparison...I'm intrigued by both of them!

Trish - we love you. Mamavation is not about stressing you out, it is about helping us make life changes which don't happen overnight. We all are in this together and whether we lose weight or slack off doesn't matter as much as we are all sisters. We all love and support each other and NO ONE is judging us - that is acceptance, for who we are inside.... we all accept each other for who we are.

Look left and right and see us next to you!

XOXOX

Skype me when you can...change is good. You are right. I think being the next Mamavation mom would be a change, don't you? I also think having a Dr. help you with your food and a fitness guru help you with your fitness might be the answer to your problem. Let's talk...

KCLAnderson (Karen) said...

Go TRISH! I applaud you for doing what you know is right for you! That's half the battle right there! You have everything you need, right inside yourself!

JustTracyB said...

There's only one person deep down that knows what's best for you, and that's YOU!

I keep telling you this, but I will say this again. Whenever I read your posts, it feels like you are speaking for me. I am not a great blogger, writer etc and have a hard time writing everything that flows through my mind....you nail it right on the head for me.
I, too, need to get back to basics. I have also recently purchased a Gruve to compare to my Bodybugg. I stopped logging food. I am just trying to eat healthier. I like how the Gruve is simple, and I can just look at the color to see if I need to be moving more to get my burn goal. I do wish it counted steps. I hate to wear the bugg just to count steps. The calorie burn per day seems to be close. It's just calculated differently is all.

I look forward to your review though!
Good luck in the changes you make. Maybe we can communicate a bit via FB or whatever to keep each other up.

you can do this Trish! and we are all right here supporting you.
I so understand the need to step back from the internet for awhile---we'll be here waiting for when you are ready to come back.

In the meantime, know that we are cheering for you!

I know there are a mix of feelings and I am so thankful for the support, I really am.

This journey is about me and if I lose me, I have failed. I need to put myself first and I am so appreciative of those that completely understand and support that, those that do not or are confused, I apologize and hope you will see the reasons loud and clear in he coming weeks and months!

{{HUGS}} to all!

Trish, just want you to know I love you and admire you for all of this. I know I already left a comment, but felt like that needed to be said. You inspire me.

Part of me is sad, but I am also VERY glad that you are finding yourself and loosing yourself from the "rules" on how your suppose to lose the weight.

I wish we lived closer so we could go on power walks together!

Keep working towards your goal. It is a journey not a race. Keep going. The mamavation gals will be around for you when you need the support (and when you think you don't need it!)

Jess said...

I just started mamavation but I am so sad to here you. I think you have alot of support but you do whats best for you. I know I will support you either way!

Mandy said...

Any reasons you have for doing what you do are your own. Please don't feel like you have to explain yourself. I totally get what you are saying - and I think that our heads are in the same spot right now. I need to stop micromanaging and look at the bigger picture. Focus on me. And there is nothing wrong about that, at all.
If you need anything from me to help you do that, let me know. I'm a big fan of yours, and I'll keep supporting you. We *will* make it to our goals!

It really does come down to YOU. What works for you isn't always straight forward and sometimes you do have to re-evaluate. It sounds like you are in a strong place right now and I'm glad for you. I really believe in you!
