Product Review: Tofurky Kielbasa With Recipe

The nice people over at Turtle Mountain Foods asked if I would be willing to try one of their products so  they sent me a coupon for a free package of their product.
I decided to make a quick meal of it…something that would go great with a  Super Bowl Party…here is what i came up with…super easy…
  • 3c instant brown rice(prepare according to package directions, set aside)
  • pkg frozen Bird’s Eye Pepper Stir fry
  • pkg Tofurky Kielbasa

I sliced the “kielbasa” and sautéed it in a cooking sprayed pan until started to brown…
I added th bag of pepper stir-fry to the pan with the “kielbasa”
I continued cooking over med heat until peppers were cooked.
I love spice, but not everyone in my family does, so I usually leave spice out of recipes and add to plates of those chosen few that adore the burn. I tried the recipe first as I cooked it…was ok…but I adore spice…so I added some red pepper flakes and cayenne pepper. THAT made this dish in my opinion fantastic!
My kids will eat vegan…vegetarian…most of what i serve and when I asked how they liked the dish, here is their opinions…
Oldest son who is 15 said the taste was ok, but was not crazy about the texture.
Daughter who is 10 said it was ok…again it was a texture thing.
Youngest son who is 6 said it was pretty good.
Mom here though it to be pretty good though do agree it is a texture thing and definitely could NOT serve to my meat loving friends without fully disclosing it is vegan! :)
Would I make this again? Absolutely!
Would I use Tofurky Kielbasa again? Absolutely!
Would I try their Beer Brats or Italian Sausage? Yes I would!
If you are wondering about the Nutritional aspects of this product…here you go…
Have you tried any Tofurky products? Did you enjoy them?
Let me know…love getting others opinions!

Disclosure: Turtle Island Foods sent me a coupon for a free package of their Tofurky product of choice. The opinions here stated in this post are solely mine and receiving the product free has not influenced my opinion in anyway.
