followed a little later by an avocado…remember I LOVE avocados and had a couple through the day…you will see :)
See here is my next one an hour or so later…
then the Crazy morning began…has been a crazy weekend. Been stuck indoors for 3 days…time to go out! Got a call we were going to meet our son to retrieve him from friends he was staying with during last few days of winter break…meeting at a gas station…so ran out of the house…no lunch…oh no!Figured..ok be a quick trip grab something when we get home or worse case buy some fruit at the gas station….
As the van is warming and Dad is shoveling…kids decide to start a snowball fight!! :)
We got just a little snow…abut a foot and a half I love the rosiness of the cheeks in winter…such a healthy glow!! :)
As we literally are pulling out to the road…cell phone rings…we want to meet at McDonald’s we are hungry! GROAN! Oh no! Ok I can do this…nope I caved…I was starving…to eat a salad…right…nope they use msg and my heart races for hours and I feel terrible after…no salad…it is a Big mac meal…yes you read right…I faltered for a Big Mac meal…I do not even LIKE McDonald’s(other than their coffee and well no coffee right, which I did not had unsweetened tea..hmm should have had coffee LOL) BUT I got right back on the very next meal as you see…
I had soaked oats…soaked in almond milk…added PB and a banana…I was so good…it was so good. held me over like nothing else!! And as you are thinking ewe raw cold oatmeal…it was NOT cold…warmed…finger warmed and good!
So there you have yesterday…owning up to my fail…but see I am learning…I did not go overload, meaning I had the meal and was done…did not add a pie or supersize or continued down the fail trail…I got right back on my journey…the right path…for ME that is a victory!

Yay for confessing about the McD's. Do you think having some protein in with the fruit and avocado early in the day could have helped you better prepare for the surprise encounter with the House that Ronald built?

Hey - remember what I wrote about. Tomorrow is a fresh day with no mistakes. It's all about choices right? At least that's what I'm getting drilled into my head :)
ReplyDeleteI was told by Britney Ulrich (Walk At Home Walk Now, spokesperson) that if you have to go to a restaurant with a drive thru then just make the choice a good one.
Instead of the Big Mac you should have ordered yourself a kids meal or off the $1 menu. A kids cheeseburger and kid's fry is less fat and calories then the Big Mac. Plus the serving size is closer to what us adults should be having. Also a small Diet Coke is less calories and sugar then even the unsweetened ice tea - but I have a weakness for unsweetened ice tea so that one I may not be able to order something else.
I know you know Leah Segedie - she was another one that told me about the fast food. If there is NO other choice and you HAVE to go there be prepared. Know ahead of time 1 good choice at each of these places. Look up their nutrition guide online and figure out what you'd be willing to eat. Then should the time come that you have to stop at the golden arches then you know okay for breakfast I should have X over Y, Z and for lunch or dinner I need to have D or E over A, B & C.
Oh and love me some avocados!!!
