Day 1 Daily Eats

I am taking part in a 30 day raw vegan challenge.
Raw and Vegan…so what the heck do I eat?!
I  will show you…
I started with a smoothie made with frozen acai fruit, some fresh cranberries a frozen banana and some water…blended then added some raw granola to the top. It was pretty tasty
Then I was hungry a little while later and had a Lara bar (here is a slight fail, when I bought them I though I saw 100%raw vegan, after closer inspection it was more like 90%, so I had 10% off plan with this meal *sigh* OK I will continue anyway ;)) ad a cup of almond milk that I made on Thursday.
Lunch was a salad drizzled cold pressed olive oil and a side of banana chips.
Snack was 2 Clementine's and a banana.
Still hungry I went for an avocado…I LOVE avocados!
Dinner was another salad. I put some raw granola on top for some crunch this time.
Look for How I feel and so on Friday for my Fitness Friday post. What am I thinking? THAT will wait for then! :)
Now it is YOUR turn…Are you willing to change what you eat to feel better?

  2. That smoothie looked awesome!

One question though - are you getting much protein in the diet? Looks like a ton of carbs in there - healthy ones though!

  5. Way to go! I give you props. I tried to go raw and ended up having such frightening headaches, I couldn't move! I was soooo bummed, because I loved everything, but couldn't deal with the pain.

  6. Way to go! I am proud of you. You are bound to feel a bit draggy for a few days initially while your body recalibrates, but after that your energy levels will soar. If you're worried about protein, add some raw nuts (they work quite well in a shake or even in a salad dressing) or try hemp protein, which is a whole food, as opposed to a processed isolate. Sprouts are also good. One of the best resources for raw food on the web is Gena's blog - Choosing Raw. She's got great info and loads of fun recipes.
