Veggie Joes

Ingredients

    Garlic, 2 cloves, minced
    1 Onion, chopped
    1/4 c Banana Peppers
    2C T.V.P., reconstituted with 1 3/4 c hot water
    12 oz Tomato Sauce
    1 tsp Oregano
    1/4 c Catsup
    2T Worcestershire Sauce(vegan friendly brand)
    2 T Brown Sugar

DirectionsBob's Red Mill T.V.P. (Textured Veg Protein), 10-Ounce (Pack of 4)

Sauté first 4 ingredients in a large frying pan. In a bowl combine remaining ingredients. Stir into frying pan and bring to a boil. Add salt and pepper to taste.Reduce heat and stir until sauce is thickened.
Serve over bread of choice and enjoy!

  1. We *love* sloppy joes! We've tried themw ith TVP, too--they were delicious! Have you seen the new Quorn Crumbles? Like ground beef/turkey in thexture. So far, we've had it in Shepherd's Pie, tacos, meat sauce and pasta--such a great texture! They're in the freezer section.
