Black Bean Burger

Adapted from here.

Ingredients

    16 oz can black beans, drained and rinsed
    1/2 onion cut into wedges
    3 cloves garlic, peeled
    1 egg
    1/2c ground oats
    1/4c ground flax meal

Directions

1. In medium bowl, mash beans with fork until thick and pasty.
2. In a food processor, finely chop onion and garlic. Stir mixture into mashed beans.
3. In small bowl lightly beat egg. Stir into bean mixture
4. mix in oats and flax until mixture is sticky & holds together.
5. form into patties & place into refrigerator to chill for 5-10 minutes
6. cook & serve.
Notes: refrigerator step is very important to help hold them together.
Can be cooked on stove top, in a 375 degree oven for 8-10 minutes each side or on the grill with foil.
